What is photography?
The art of capturing light with a camera is usually through a digital or video sensor to create an image. With the right camera equipment, you can even capture light wavelengths that are invisible to the human eye, including ultraviolet, infrared, and radio.

Three basic camera settings you need to know
Your camera has dozens of buttons and menu options. If you choose the wrong camera settings, your photo may not work as well as you would like. How can you feel all these options? And how can you do that quickly?
These things are easier said than done. In fact, most menu options are items that you only set once, then rarely or never touch again. Only a small number of settings need to be changed frequently.
The three most important settings are shutter speed, aperture and ISO. All three control the brightness of your photo, though they do it in different ways. In other words, each depicts its own “side effects.” So, it’s a little interesting to know how to balance all three for a particular photo.
Shutter speed: The amount of time your camera’s sensor is exposed to the world when taking a photo.
Aperture: Shows a “pupil” in your camera lens that can be opened and closed in different amounts of light.
ISO: Technically a bit more complex but similar to film sensitivity for taking photos in different light conditions.

To get started, you need a camera that can be from the main smartphone to an advanced DSLR or a mirrorless camera, however, the equipment is not important. Light, subject, emotions and composition are important elements of a successful photo.
